An Old Gibson Amp Reconditioned

When something like this comes in to be reconditioned, the unit is first fully disassebled, and carefully cleaned.  Chassis, cabinet and speakers.
 

This unit has had most all the capacitors replaced because of age.  The line cord has been replaced, along with a few pots that would not clean up with the chemical sprays.  The wire for the tremolo had also been replaced.
 

The use of NOS replacement tubes is the ONLY way to re-capture the Original sound of this amp.  This was one of those amps that took an hour plus to play test.  I guess you can guess the reason why.  I hated to see it leave the shop.
