Awesome job, Rich.

Like I said on the landline, this guitar has never
sounded this good in the 15 years that I've owned
it. It's all because of you, my friend.

To the rest of AGA a little update:

Shortly after buying this '77 (or 8?) Strat
(Chicago area newspaper ad; $250), I took it to
ATS and had them redo the fretboard and install a
Kahler 2700 tremolo.

To their credit, the tech suggested that I get (I
believe it was) a Charvel with that bridge already
on it and I'd be ahead of the game, but alas I
didn't give it enough thought. (big ol' D'OH!!)
This has been my main axe since then and has been
a very good player until last year I noticed it
sounded kinda dead. Upon closer inspection, I
found that the bass side bridge pin bushing had
pulled out from the body and the bridge was out of
whack, so to speak. If you look at this scan where
it says "Made in USA", you can see the point where
the bridge was contacting the body:
backside:
(that thing in the back is a "Trem-Latch" that
locks the bridge when the arm is down)

Since I'd seen Rich's pics of this one that he
did:

http://www.timeelect.com/bbf.htm

I got in touch with him.

The difference in resonance/sustain both
acoustically and plugged in is like night and day
(see paragraph #1), compared to before.

I'm so glad the old Blonde Bitch is back and
better than ever!!!!!!

She calls to me...

I go...

THANKS for all you kind words Dave.

I just finished putting up the page on the site with your guitar on it.

I hope you don't mind, I added your post to the page.

If you'd like to change anything, let me know, and it's done.

LOL, sorry for the length of time it took.

It was a bit of a brain buster figuring things out.

It really turned out nice.

Here is the link to the page, when I get time, I'll add some text to explain the pictures.

I was very impressed by the repairs I saw on Rich's website. I hope I
never need him to perform that service for me but in that event, I
know where I would go.

And if I ever run into someone needing that service, I wouldn't
hesitate to send him those links.

Rich,
You sure make it look easy.  I'll bet we could count on one hand the number
of people who could have pulled this off.  You're no *jack*, you're the
master of trades: machine tool, woodworker, luthier, some others I can't
think of right now.  Dave sure is one lucky fellow.  Most folks would have
given the old axe the heave-ho.
Phil
