Our Basic Policies
BUSINESS HOURS: We are open 12:00 noon-8:00 p.m. Monday-Friday Eastern Standard Time.  Saturday by appointment only.  Closed Sundays & holidays.

CONSULTATIONS: By appointment only  $60.00 per hour.

DEPOSIT: A $50.00 non-refundable deposit per job is required before any work will begin. This is applied towards parts, labor, telephone calls, and expenses incurred in diagnosing your equipment. This deposit will be credited to the final bill and still applies if the customer only desires an "estimate", or if the complaint is found to be produced by "User Error".

PAYMENT: All invoices must be paid in full when picking up equipment. Method of payment is CASH, US Postal Money Order, or Cashier's Check.

SPECIAL PARTS ORDERS:  Before the order can be placed with our suppliers, all orders must be paid in full.

RUSH CHARGE: Any unit that is designated as a RUSH will receive priority attention. This means that it is evaluated within one working day and any needed parts are ordered overnight delivery. There is a $25.00 per hour charge added onto the normal labor rate and all additional charges, phone, freight, etc. are passed on to the customer. We process RUSH work orders on a "1st in, 1st out" basis.

STORAGE CHARGE: All units left over 30 days from completion will be charged $2.00 storage for each day from the thirty-first day.

UNCLAIMED UNITS: Every attempt is made to notify our customers upon completion of repair. If for some reason we are unable to contact you or you fail to claim your unit within 90 days of completion, it will be sold.

FACTORY WARRANTY SERVICE: A photo-copy of the original receipt from the place of purchase must be presented and verification from manufacturer confirmed before any work will begin.

TIME ELECTRONICS WARRANTY:  ONLY the actual work performed and parts provided by Time Electronics is covered for a period of 90 days.  Vacuum tubes are only warranted for a period of 30 days.

NOTE - this warranty does NOT cover any parts NOT purchased from Time Electronics, or any FAILURE due to parts NOT purchased from Time Electronics.

Our Communications  Policies

Contact Information Update - Because of the ever increasing amount of E-Mail and SPAM that fills our mailbox daily, along with the number of phone calls that come in , we have been forced to make come changes in these areas.

THE TELEPHONE - Our #1 primary means of contact is still the old-fashioned, fast and efficient telephone.  The phone hours are 12:00 NOON - 5:00 PM  and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST.  Monday - Friday at 908-353-0933. 

We no longer have the Call Waiting feature on our telephone line.  It was found to be very disruptive to our callers with the constant beeping throughout a phone conversation.  You can just put a person on HOLD so many times in one phone call.  So, in fairness to our callers, we removed Call Waiting. 

Now what this means is, you ARE going to get that old-fashioned BUSY SIGNAL when we are speaking with another customer,  so you  will need to hit your re-dial button in order to get through.

However, once you get through, you are not going to be interrupted by Call Waiting ever again.  It's just so much better that way.

E-MAIL - Is NOT our  #1 primary means of contact, and is NOT as fast and efficient as  REAL TIME telephone communication. 

E-Mail is best used as a means of sending digital visual illustrations to support telephone conversations in REAL TIME with modern high speed internet connection.

With the ever increasing amount of SPAM, over 2,500 a day without the filters in place, we still have over 300 per day coming through the filters. 

These have to be DELETED Manually EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!.  There have been times where we have mistakenly DELETED some important E-Mail from our mailbox.

To prevent this from happening and to get YOUR E-Mail to stand out from the spam. PLEASE TYPE IN THE SUBJECT LINE, IN ALL CAPS, HEY RICH!!!!!

That way we will see you in the mailbox.

If you do not receive an e-mail  response, it means either we did not receive your e-mail (possibly due to virus or SPAM filters, or even lost e-mail) or that you did not receive our response (possibly due to your ISP's SPAM filters).

If the latter problem, then we can't contact you at that ISP, and you either need to use a different account or ask your ISP to fix the problem.

If the former problem, use that old-fashioned, fast and efficient telephone. 

E MAIL Initial Contact Please refrain from replying via private e mail unless you wish to inquire about hiring our expertise. Questions about any of the services offered on our website and/or the many custom options available to our clientele are -always- welcome, -and always answered promptly.

For operational advice and product recommendations, consider posting to the usenet newsgroups, read reviews, FAQ's, and visit manufacturers websites and tech support. (Many quality reference sources can already be found via our links page!) Time Electronics' technicians visit these forums often during non shop hours, and we're always glad to offer our input, when warranted, in that format.
